Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to you ALL!
As we progress through this holiday season, let us remember to give thanks, and receive our perfect bill of freedom in God. During this season, we have to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit regarding the difficulties and losses experienced with our fellow family and loved ones. Let us be empathetic and understanding with our people in need.
I was in the store the other day, and a lady who seemed to be out of character was explaining that she is acting this way because her nephew was just brutally murdered. I could not even began to imagine how I would feel if anyone connected to me was murdered, let alone, brutally murdered. This was actually the second instance of killing that I was alerted about in the last week. The other instance I learned about was from my job.
SAINTS, we must remain humble and pray about everything connected to you and/or your family, everything. This means that we must try to be in tune with God, and hear his voice.
Often times we miss that small still voice of the LORD speaking to us. We sometimes miss our moments because the LORD is not going to compete with the noise in our life. I believe that He gives us several chances to hear His directions. Over and over in the bible, God reiterates themes and different things. The LORD directed me to open my bible dictionary, and when I opened my bible, I found this word that I know that I am familiar with, but had no idea what it truly meant until God showed me directly.
The word God showed me is the word Immutable. Wikipedia states, “The Immutability of God is an attribute where “God is unchanging in his character, will, and covenant promises.” God’s immutability defines all his other attributes: he is immutably wise; he cannot but be merciful, good, and gracious.”
This word can mean unchangeable. Therefore, God is Immutable! We serve an immutable God! Immutability is constant activity and perfect freedom. God creates, perform miracles, and sustains the universe all at the same time! As a result, we are humbled, and are able to experience being free and free indeed (John 8:36, NIV).
I submit to you today, to be strong and very courageous during this Holiday season. God says to us, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9, NIV).
I am not sure what God may be whispering or saying to you right now, but the day you hear the LORD’s voice harden not your heart. I wish you all a blessed weekend, and prosperous Holiday season. Let us be prepared to walk in purpose as we approach 2017! Let us be cognizant that someone needs an encouraging word today, they are waiting on us, the believers, to bridge the gap, and be the salt of the earth.
